About

On behalf of the governors, staff and pupils, may we welcome you to Woodside Primary School. This website provides information about the school, its aims, curriculum, activities and community links.

Woodside school was opened in 1878 and has a long history within the local community. It is set in its own playing fields with views across the Forest of Dean towards Wales.

We have 4 mixed age classes. Reception and Year 1 in Class 1, Years 1 and 2 in Class 2, Years 3 and 4 in Class 3, and finally Years 5 and 6 in Class 4. Each class has their own page, use the links on the left to find out about them.

We are very proud of the various awards we have achieved.

We work hard to ensure that we are a healthy school. Children are encouraged to eat healthy meals, either school dinners or packed lunches. At breaktime we eat fruit or vegetables to help us towards the recommended 5-a-day intake. We all have our own water bottles which we can drink from during the day if we get thirsty.

We promote exercise, as part of a healthy lifestyle, and the children have a range of equipment to play with during lunchtime. We also run a number of after-school clubs for our pupils,  many of them are sports based, but not all.
